Live! From The Davis Recreational Hall in Davis, California!
April 9th, "1998"
As the intro fades into the Davis Recreational Hall, fireworks come shooting down from the ceiling and exploding across the stage. With "Thorn in Your Eye" blaring through the arena, the camera pans the crowd, catching the excitement and anticipation for the return of Raw Is War! As the camera pans over to the announce table, Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler welcome us to the show!
Jim Ross: Welcome ladies and gentlemen to Raw is War! I'm Jim Ross, alongside Jerry "The King" Lawler! We're gonna have a hell of a show tonight King, DX and the Corporation clash, and Bret Hart is on a war path!
Jerry "The King" Lawler: Forget about Bret Hart JR! Like Stone Cold said, he's washed up, a has been! I loved seeing the look on his face when Austin turned around and stunned him too! Haha!
Jim Ross: It was dispicable King! The man was his tag team partner!
Jerry "The King" Lawler: If that idiot thought Stone Cold was going to "play nice" just because McMahon put them on the same team, he deserved what he got! McMahon's a genious JR!
Jim Ross: And speaking of Vince McMahon, here he comes!
The crowd erupts in boos as Vince McMahon comes out from behind the curtain, followed closely by Shane McMahon, Gerald Brisco, and Pat Patterson. Behind them, the rest of the Corporation follow behind, led by the Rock. They file into the ring, Brisco and Patterson holding open the ropes for Vince and Shane. Vince looks angry, and rushes to the corner where he is handed a mic.
Vince McMahon: SHUT UP! SHUT THE HELL UP! Shawn Michaels! You think you can just walk around doing whatever you want? You and your hoodlum degenerates better remember who runs this damn place! Tonight, my Corporation will remind you why you don't cross the boss! So tonight, we'll see the Big Bossman in action! Let's see, who do I want Bossman to teach a lesson to? How about the guy who thinks that calling himself "Mr. Ass" is cool? I think he needs some sense beat into him. Yes, tonight we will see the Big Bossman take on Billy Gunn! Now, let's see. ah yes, HHH, second in command. You definitly need to be taught a BIG lesson. How big? How about 7'2, 500 pounds? Tonight HHH, you'll go one on one with the Big Show! And what about the little guy? X-Pac, tonight, you go one on one, with "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry!
The crowd erupts in boos at the idea of X-Pac having to wrestle Mark Henry.
Jim Ross: That's not fair King! Henry is 3 times the size of X-Pac!
Jerry "The King" Lawler: DX shoulda thought of that before they crossed the Corporation!
The Rock goes into the corner and grabs a mic.
The Rock: Shawn Michaels! Nobody, and I mean nobody, tells the Rock or the Corporation what to do! You can try all you want to get that title shot, because it aint gonna happen! You see, the Rock is going to be the next one to challenge the Undertaker, and I will bring the Championship back to where it belongs! Now, if anybody needs to be taught a lesson, it's you Shawn! So tonight, the Rock is going to personally deliver it! Tonight, you will go one on one with the Great One! And I guaren-damn-tee, I am gonna whoop your candy ass all over California!
The Corporation's music hits as the crowd continues to boo, and the camera fades to commercial.
As Raw returns, the camera cuts backstage to the interview area.
Michael Cole: We are backstage with "Latino Heat" Eddie Guerrero. Eddie, tonight you fight Jeff Jarrett and WWF's newest superstar Taka Michinoku. So what are your thoughts on tonight's match?
"Latino Heat" Eddie Guerrero: Ese, you want to know my thoughts on tonight's match? Jeff Jarrett, you got a lucky win last week over me, but tonight it will be different, ese. You see, I'm going to do whatever it takes to become number one contender for the European Championship, and do whatever it takes for you not to win. Taka whatever your name is, I wish you luck in tonight's match, as I have respect for you, and if I don't win, I hope you do.
Michael Cole: Well, there you have it, guys! Let's go back to ringside with Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler!
Jim Ross: That's going to be a great match tonight, and Eddie Guerrero saying he respects the other guy is good to see in this day and age.
Jerry "The King" Lawler: Yeah, that punk Eddie Guerrero said Jeff Jarrett is not going to win. Well that's bogus! Tonight Jeff Jarrett will win once again and become number one contender for the title!
Jeff Jarrett vs. "Latino Heat" Eddie Guerrero vs. Taka Michinoku
(Triple Threat Match: European Championship #1 Contendership!)
The match begins with Jeff Jarrett going after Eddie. The two men battle it out, but Taka breaks them up and begins hammering both men back and forth. He chops Guerrero into the ropes and whips him into a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Jarrett grabs Taka and whips him into the ropes, but Taka hits a flying headscissors. The three men get up and Taka and Eddie begin to double team Jarrett. They hit a double suplex, but then Eddie attacks Taka. He throws him out of the ring and covers Jarrett but he kicks out. Eddie goes up top for a frog splash, but Taka shoves him off the top rope and to the outside. Taka hits a Michinoku Driver on Jarrett. He covers him for the win!
Winner: Taka Michinoku
Jim Ross: What a match! Taka definitly earned his spot as number one contender for the European Championship!
Jerry "The King" Lawler: But isn't he Asian JR?
Jim Ross: Wow King. We'll be right back folks!
As Raw Is War returns from commercial, Michael Cole is seen standing in front of what looks to be an interview set. The WWF logo hangs crooked on a chainlink fence. As Michael Cole is about to speak, "Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Badass" Billy Gunn walk into the shot, ready for their interview.
Michael Cole: Ladies and gentlemen, at this time I am joined by the New Age Outlaws, "Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Badass" Billy Gunn! Last week we saw Degeneration X get into a huge brawl with the Corporation! This week it looks like several members of Degeneration X have been placed in matches with members of the Corporation. Shawn Michaels goes up against the Rock. X-Pac goes up against Mark Henry. Triple H goes up against the Big Show, and you, Billy Gunn, go one on one with the Big Bossman!
"Badass" Billy Gunn: Let me tell you something, Michael Cole. The Corporation thought last week was bad... Haha, well they ain't seen nothing yet! You see, DX is about to show the Corporation a big 'ol ass kickin' tonight when all of our boys bring home a dubya! You see, while Big Bossman has his head shoved up Mr. McMahon's ass, Billy Gunn is gonna be kickin' his!
Michael Cole: Billy, since you and Road Dogg lost the WWF Tag Team Championships at the Royal Rumble, they have been vacated. Are the Outlaws looking at possibly getting the belts back?
"Badass" Billy Gunn: You're damn right we are, Michael Cole! You see, at the Royal Rumble the Hardy Boys got damn lucky! They caught us off guard. I mean... where are they now? Fired! The New Age Outlaws have their eyes on those titles, and one way or another, we're going to be WWF Tag Team Champions again!
"Road Dogg" Jesse James: Ohhhh, you damn right we are! You see, the Corporation thinks because they all sit around kissing McMahon's ass that they can hold DX down, but we got news for 'em! Degeneration X don't make the rules... but we damn sure break 'em! Corporation, listen up! The New Age Outlaws want those WWF Tag Team Titles! And since your precious little leader is the man in charge... he is the one to make it happen! So McMahon, take two of your boys... And put 'em up against the New Age Outlaws, and we'll just see who walks out the Champions!
Michael Cole: Well, you heard it here, folks! The New Age Outlaws are looking to get back the WWF Tag Team Championships, and they're willing to go through anyone to get them!
Billy Gunn suddenly snatches the microphone from Cole...
"Badass" Billy Gunn: And if you ain't down with that... We got two words for ya'!
"SUCK IT!"
The crowd screams "Suck it," as Billy shoves the microphone back into Cole's hands and storms off for his match up next!
"Badass" Billy Gunn vs. Big Bossman
(Singles Match!)
The two men immediately start slugging it out, really laying it into each other. Billy Gunn gains the upper hand and whips Bossman into the ropes. He goes for a clothesline but Bossman ducks and comes back with a hard clothesline of his own. Bossman picks up Billy and scoops him up for a body slam. He begins to stomp him out and when the ref gets too close, Bossman backs the ref down. When he turns around, Billy is already on his feet. Billy Gunn hits a dropkick. He picks Bossman up and brings him into the corner. He goes up and hits ten punches as the crowd counts along. Bossman drops and rolls outside the ring. The Big Show runs down to the ring and distracts the ref. Bossman grabs the nightstick and enters the ring while Billy is distracted by the Big Show. He turns around and just manages to duck the nightstick. Billy hits the Fame-asser! The ref turns in time to count.
Winner: "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn
Road Dogg runs down to the ring and starts hammering the Big Show outside the ring, but Big Show grabs him by the throat. Billy Gunn comes out of nowhere with a baseball slide, knocking the Big Show and Road Dogg down. Gunn exits the rings and the Outlaws grab Big Show and slam him into the stairs. Bossman comes outside but Road Dogg ducks his punch and hits the Shake, Rattle, and Roll. The Outlaws walk around to the other side of the ring and grab chairs, but Bossman and Big Show are already up and fleeing back up the ramp. The Outlaws enter the ring, chairs in hand, inviting them to come back for more. While both men look back towards the ring, HHH and X-Pac come running out and hit the two men from behind. They each lead their man back towards the ring and throw them inside. Bossman sinks into the corner, and the Big Show stands his ground. Road Dogg goes at him with the chair, but Big Show just punches it into his face. Billy Gunn tries next, but Big Show big boots the chair back into his face. Bossman exits the ring, apparently only interested in getting away from DX. X-Pac goes for a spinning kick on the Big Show, but he catches him in mid air and dumps him over the top rope. HHH begins to shout at the Big Show and Big Show signals for HHH to bring it. The camera fades to commercial.
Triple H vs. The Big Show
(Singles Match!)
We return from commercial and the match is already under way. Big Show has HHH on the ground with a vice-like grip on his shoulder blade. HHH writes in pain, but the crowd gets behind him and he starts to make his way back up. He manages to elbow Big Show a couple of times, and runs into the ropes, coming back with a flying knee. Big Show stumbles into the ropes and gets his arms trapped. HHH takes advantage and begins unloading on Big Show. He taunts him by doing a crotch chop, and then continues unloading. Big Show manages to get a massive leg on HHH and kicks him to the ground. He pulls himself up and untangles himself. He hits blow after blow and lifts HHH into the air over his head. He slams him down to the ground and then walks over HHH, putting all of his weight on HHH's chest. Big Show signals for a chokeslam and lifts him up. He gets Hunter up, but HHH manages to kick Big Show in the gut, and Big Show releases him. He tries twice to clothesline Big Show down, but he won't budge. The third attempt is successful. HHH goes for the Pedigree. He nails it for the victory!
Winner: Triple H
Jim Ross: Well, so far King, DX is 2-0 against McMahon's Corporation!
Jerry "The King" Lawler: Yeah yeah, you just wait to see what Mark Henry does to that punk X-Pac! I can't wait JR!
Jim Ross: Well, you won't have to wait long King! Cause that match is coming up next! Stay tuned!
Raw returns from commercial break to find Kevin Kelly standing in front of the Raw logo awaiting an interview with The World's Strongest Champion Mark Henry. Henry enters the scene wearing a dark red singlet with the WWF Hardcore Championship over his shoulder and Kelly turns to the camera to speak.
Kelly: I am here with the "self-proclaimed" Silverback of the World Wrestling Federation Mark Henry.
Henry grabs Kelly by the throat in anger staring into the eyes of the scared man in his hands. Henry glares into his soul as he begins to speak angrily.
Henry: "Self-proclaimed"? Did you say "self-proclaimed"? I AM the Silverback of the WWF and if you don't believe it maybe I should prove it to you right now boy!
Kelly: NO! I'm sorry Mark I didn't mean any disrespect! I swear!
Henry holds Kelly into the air by his throat, but drops him as he begins to turn blue in the face. Henry stares at him trying to gather himself on the ground as he adjusts his Hardcore Championship on his shoulder before grabbing Kevin's microphone to speak again.
Henry: You damn right I'm the Silverback of the WWF and now I am the King of the Corporate Jungle too!! Last week Vince McMahon came to ME. He came to me and wanted me to join his little group to destroy his enemies!
Henry's anger starts to leave as he almost seems to get happy and confident as he turns towards the camera to address someone directly through the camera.
Henry: Degeneration X... You boys got lucky last week in your little fight with the Corporation. You're lucky that the World's Strongest Man wasn't in that ring to take you out, but tonight, Mr. McMahon has given me you X-Pac! Champion vs Champion for the second week in a row X-Pac, and tonight won't be like last week. Tonight, I won't show mercy and when I'm through, you won't be able to leave that ring on your own! So get ready boy, get ready to be dominated by the Silverback! Welcome to my Jungle!!!
Henry drops the microphone on a prone Kevin Kelly and makes his way to the ring for his match with the European Champion X-Pac.
We are now taken to another backstage area of RAW. We are taken to the area where most of the wrestlers are watching footage of last week's edition of Raw Is War, we witness a plethora of wrestlers standing in a group. Such gifted wrestlers like Christian, Taka, and Eddie Guerrero are included in this group. Standing at the very front of the group watching the brawl of a match that occurred between "Sycho" Sid and "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry is X-Pac. He is donned in his full DX gear as he watches the very ending of the match where Henry delivers an unforgiving splash to Sid. The reaction Pac gives as he witnesses the move leaves him with many thoughts. X-Pac leaves the group of wrestlers to get ready for his match. Kevin Kelly catches up with X-Pac as Kevin Kelly has many questions for X-Pac to answer.
Kevin Kelly: X-Pac, is it okay to have a quick word with you?
X-Pac: Shoot. What's your question?
Kevin Kelly: After the tremendous match you put on with Owen Hart last week, you have to face quite possibly one of the most menacing men here in the WWF, Mark Henry. What are your thoughts heading into this match?
X-Pac: You know, regarding your comments about Owen Hart. I'll give credit where credit is due, Owen might be an annoying punk, but he is no joke in the ring. He has my total respect. I just came up short, and I'm confident next time we meet in the ring again, the result will be much different. As far as Mark Henry goes, I've seen what he's capable of. He's just been plowing through all the competition here ever since God knows when.
Kevin Kelly: Now we all know that this will be a special Champion vs. Champion attraction match, but what does this match mean to you and what is your strategy? Do you think you can combat "The World's Strongest Man?"
X-Pac: We all know that I'm the European Champion. I'm doing what it takes to hold on to this very title. I'm willing to take on any competition here. My strategy is simply to go for the legs. It's the only way to get the big bastard down! You see Mark, I get it. You're big. You're scary. But, don't think for one second that's going to intimidate me. You claim to be the "Silverback of the WWF?" Once I'm done laying your ass down, you're going to be nothing but the "Silverbitch of the WWF!". And if you're not down with that, I got two words for ya'!
The crowd anticipates X-Pac's final line as they say it along with him.
X-Pac (With the crowd): SUCK IT!
The scene closes as X-Pac leaves the backstage area removing his DX Jersey and walking towards the curtain in anticipation of his upcoming match.
"World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry vs. X-Pac
(Singles Match: Non-Title!)
The match begins with X-Pac circling inside the ring, trying to stay out of Henry's grasp. Henry charges at him, but X-Pac is too quick and moves out of the way. X-Pac hits Henry with two kicks in the ribs and then a spinning kick to the chin. Henry stumbles, but does not fall. X-Pac runs into the ropes and slides under Henry's legs. He gets behind him and starts sending kick after kick to Henry's knees. Henry turns around to face X-Pac and X-Pac tries a kick to gut but Henry catches it. X-Pac goes for an enzigiri, but Henry ducks. Henry picks up X-Pac and lifts him high into the air. He slams him down with force, and X-Pac rolls in pain. Henry picks him up again and powerslams him. He hits a big splash! He covers X-Pac, who not only can't kick out, but looks unconscious.
Winner: "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry
Jim Ross: I think he killed him King! Bah Gawd, I think he's dead! Somebody get a stretcher!
Medics come down to the ring to attend to X-Pac while we go to commercial.
Raw comes back from commercial and the Hitman's theme surrounds the Recreational Hall in Califorinia. Bret walks down the ramp in his wrestling gear holding his jaw after receiving a Stone Cold Stunner last week on Raw. Bret grabs a mic.
Jim Ross: Here's the Hitman King, and tonight he has to be a little pissed off about receiving a Stunner from his tag team partner last week.
Jerry "The King" Lawler: Haha, Stone Cold warned him, and the Hitman didn't listen! Like I said, as far as I'm concerned Bret got what was coming to him.
Jim Ross: How can you say that King?
Bret Hart: Vince, I am coming for you week by week. Just last week, I took out your very own Big Bossman and Rock. Soon enough, there will be no one to protect you when I'm done. I promise you Vince, that at WrestleMania, I will kick your ass and you will tap out! And Stone Cold, you are nothing but a coward! I had your back last week, and what do you do... You hit me with a Stone Cold Stunner! Well Austin, tonight I am challenging you, and I guarantee that I will kick your ass all over California! This time you won't be able to sneak up from behind and hit me with a stunner, so Austin get your cowardly ass out here now!
Austin's music suddenly blares from the PA system and the crowd explodes! The fans continue to cheer as "Stone Cold" Steve Austin walks through the curtain, wearing jeans and an Austin 3:16 shirt, and storms down the ramp. He walks around the ring to the timekeeper table and grabs a mic. He steps into the ring locking eyes with Bret. Austin looks like he's holding back a smile.
Stone Cold Steve Austin: Now let me just stop you right there Bret. You see, Stone Cold doesn't need anybody watching his back, and he sure as hell doesn't WANT anybody watching his back! Stone Cold Steve Austin doesn't give a damn about you Bret, in fact I plain just don't like ya! Every week you're out here bitching, like everything is owed to ya, but when it comes down to it, you're just a washed up, has-been, son of a bitch! Now, if you wanna waste my time getting your ass whooped all over the damn place, then I won't let you down. You want to step into the ring one on one with Stone Cold, and that's exactly what's gonna happen! And after I'm done givin you the ass kickin of a life time, Stone Cold is gonna open up can after can of whoop ass until I get a match with the World Wrestling Federation Champion! And that's the bottom line! Cause Stone Cold said so!
Austin's music hits as Bret gets up in his face. The two men exchange words as we go to commercial break.
Raw comes back from commercial and we are taken around the crowd to see all the signs the fans have brought. As the camera comes back from panning around the arena, Sid's music hits, and he comes out and gets into the ring. He signals for a mic.
J.R.: It's Sid! And boy does he look pissed off after last week.
King: Shut up Ross, I wanna know what's on Sid's mind.
Sid: Now that I have everyone's attention, maybe I will actually get some respect around here! Starting with the deranged Mankind. Since my big return I haven't even gotten a welcome back or anything from anyone. So now that I'm back, I plan on making a statement with you Mankind. I will destroy you and no one will even recognize you after the beating that you will take at the hands of me, "Sycho" Sid. Hahahaha!
Fans start screaming "Mankind" at the mentioning of his name.
Sid: Well Mankind, there's a saying in wrestling and that is that you have to work from the ground up. And Mankind, you are obviously at the bottom. Haha. So get your ass down here now before I go back there and drag you out here myself!
As Sid awaits for Mankind's response, the familiar sound of a crash is heard through the arena, as "Wreck" plays on. The crowd is on their feet as Mankind walks through the curtain and has a microphone in his hand. He dons in his trademark brown mask, white sleeveless shirt, and black pants. He raises his arm over his head as we can hear the massive ovation from the crowd. Mankind lowers the microphone below his mouth.
Mankind: Is that who I think it is? Oh my goodness everyone! It's Sycho Sid! The last time I heard from you, you weren't boring crowds to death. You see Sid, no insurmountable amount of pain will keep me down. You're half right with your statement, I am deranged, I am a lunatic, and I'm probably one of the craziest son of a bitches to risk his life night in and night out. There's something you also need to understand. I've taken on tougher pieces of crap than you! If you want a fight, you've got a fight!
Mankind begins to menacingly walk down the ramp as Sid looks around the ring and the audience as he grabs his microphone once again
Sid: Since my return I haven't gotten any respect from the boys in the back or these fans.
The fans start booing as loud as they can at the mention of them.
Sid: These fans haven't even given me any respect. So Mankind, you're in for the worst beating of your life. If you thought that fighting in ECW wrapped in barbed wire was bad, then you have no idea what I'm capable of. I am the man that puts people in hospitals because I feel like it, and I won't think twice about jack knifing you through this very ring. All you are is just another stepping stone, on my road to WrestleMania. So let's quit the talking and lets get to fighting you ingorant waste of talent!
Jim Ross: Bah Gawd King, these two psychopaths are about to battle it out!
Jerry "The King" Lawler: Maybe Sid will knock some sanity into that freak Mankind! Haha!
Mankind enters the ring and Sid drops the mic. They begin slugging it out, back and forth, but referees and officials run out from the back to break up the brawl. The camera fades to commercial.
Owen Hart vs. Mankind
(Singles Match: Non-Title!)
Owen is all business as he begins unloading on Mankind. He really lays it on him, but after a few seconds, he realizes Mankind is smiling. This frustrates Owen, so he whips him in the rope and hits a spinning heel kick. He throws his arms up in the air and "wooos". He picks up Mankind and goes for a kick. Mankind catches it, but Owen hits an enzigiri. Owen goes for a cover but Mankind kicks out. Owen goes to the top and goes for a missle dropkick, but Mankind is ready for it and side steps it. Mankind gets down on top of Owen and begins pummeling him with fists. He gets up and raises his arm in the air. He picks up Owen and hits a double arm DDT. He senses the kill and reaches into his trunks. It's Socko! Owen gets up and Mankind locks in the Mandible Claw. Sid runs down to the ring and while the ref's full attention is on Owen and whether or not he will tap, Sid hits Mankind over the head with a chair. Owen covers him for the victory!
Winner: Owen Hart
Owen celebrates the win as Mankind crawls to the ropes facing the stage to watch as Sid backs away up the ramp, a serious and very intimidating look in his eyes. The camera fades to commercial.
Kane vs. "Sycho" Sid
(Singles Match!)
Sid and Kane get face to face in the center of the ring, neither backing down from the other. They begin to slug it out, but Kane gets the upper hand with a succession of uppercuts. He whips Sid and hits a big boot. He picks Sid up and throws him into the corner. He hits him a few times with his hip, then backs away and lunges forward with a clothesline, but Sid moves out of the way. Sid begins a flurry of fists into Kane's gut. Sid grabs him by the hair and leads him back into the center of the ring. He whips Kane and locks in a sleeper hold. Kane begins to fade, and the ref checks him, but Kane gets up before the 3 count and gets Sid into a belly-to-back suplex. Mankind, unnoticed by either superstar, begins to make his way down to the ring. Kane gets up and locks his hand around Sid's throat. He hoists him up and slams him down. He signals for the end, and hits Sid with a tombstone piledriver. Before he can cover him however, Mankind runs in and hits Kane from behind, and then clotheslines him to the outside. The ref calls for the bell.
Winner: Kane
Mankind turns to Sid and begins to stomp him out. He then whips out Socko and locks in the Mandible Claw. Sid is writhing in pain as the referee tries to break the hold.
Jim Ross: Mankind is deranged folks! Kane had Sid beat, but Mankind interfered, and went for Kane! I don't think he cared about the match, he just wanted to be alone in the ring with Sid!
Jerry "The King" Lawler: Well, somebody better break this up JR! This guys a lunatic!
Jim Ross: I'd have to agree with you there King!
We go backstage where we see Shawn walking down the hall in his wrestling and entrance attire, with Triple H and Chyna by his side. Triple H is talking words of encouragement to Shawn, rubbing his shoulders. We then cut to the Rock walking in his wrestling attire down a similar hall. He has a determined look on his face as he walks accompanied by Shane McMahon, Mark Henry, Big Show, and Big Bossman.
Jim Ross: Shawn Michaels and the Rock both look determined to prove that they should be the next WWF Champion! And they'll get a chance to prove just that when they lock up, next!

Both men go right at each other, right hand after right hand, until the Rock manages to gain the upperhand, hitting consecutive punches, before Shawn blocks it. Shawn nails his own set of punches, and the whips the Rock. Shawn lays down and the Rock jumps over him. Then Shawn leapfrogs him, and upon the Rock return, hits an armdrag and holds on with the submission hold. The Rock gets to his feet and manages to turn it into a hammerlock. Shawn tries to reverse it, but Rock keeps a firm grip on Shawn arm, and wrenches it. Shawn does a series of flips and rolls and kicks up, and wrenches the Rocks arm. Rock grabs Shawn by the hair and whips him into the ropes. The Rock hits a Samoan drop. The Rock taunts Triple H, who tries to get on the apron, but the ref stops him. With the ref's back turned, the Rock throws Shawn out of the ring, right into the waiting arms of the Corporation. All together, the four members begin attacking Shawn, bringing him to the ground and stomping him out, until the ref comes over and they scurry away, seemingly undetected by the ref. The Rock goes out and drags Shawn back into the ring. The Rock waits for Shawn to get up and hits a Rock Bottom. He goes for the cover, but somehow Shawn kicks out. The Rock looks frustrated and goes for the People's Elbow, but Triple H grabs his leg. While the Rock is distracted, Shawn rolls him up, but the Rock kicks out. Shane gets on the apron and the ref is again distracted, and the other members of the Corporation enter the ring. They go for Shawn, and Triple H and Chyna run into the ring, as X-Pac and the New Age Outlaws run down the ramp. All hell breaks loose as the entire DX and Corporation are brawling in the ring. The ref calls for the bell.
Winner: Draw(Double DQ)
A few of them spill to the outside where the fighting continues. The Rock turns after knocking down Road Dogg and is met with Sweet Chin Music! The battle continues as we go to commercial.

Bret is forced against the ropes, and Austin clotheslines him over the top. Bret spills to the floor and Austin raises both arms in the air, turning to the crowd. The crowd roars, but Bret quickly gets back in the ring and grabs Austin from behind, tossing him over the top rope. Now Bret embraces the crowd, putting his arms out with his signature taunt, and the crowd roars again. Austin gets to the apron, and Bret grabs him and suplexes him back into the ring. Bret lifts up Austin, but Austin breaks his arms away and kicks him in the midsection. Stunner! He covers! But no! Bret manages to kick out! Austin looks bewildered, and picks Bret up. He goes for a piledriver, but Bret grabs his legs and sweeps them out from under him. Sharpshooter! Austin writes in pain, but refuses to quit. He slowly crawls to the ropes, and manages to get the hold broken. Bret begins stomping on Austin's knee, as Austin looks like he's in pain. Bret picks up Austin and brings him to the corner. He places his leg on the rope, and kicks it. He then exits the ring, grabs Austin by the legs, and locks in a corner figure four leglock. The ref begins to count Bret out, so he breaks the hold and comes back in the ring. He begins to lift Austin up, but Austin begins hitting Bret in the stomach and then the face. He whips Bret and hits a Lou Thesz press, followed by a succession of punches. He taunts Bret to get up, and when he does, Austin flips him the bird! Stunner! The cover, and the victory!
Winner: "Stone Cold" Steve Austin
Austin's music hit, and he picks up Bret and tosses him out of the ring. Austin grabs a mic and looks into the camera.
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin: Cut my music! Vince, it's about damn time we cut the crap! Now, I'm sick and tired of wasting my damn time, and its about time you gave me what everyone here wants to see me have, and that is a match for the World Wrestling Federation Title!
The crowd goes wild!
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin: If you wanna see Stone Cold beat the hell out of the Undertaker for the WWF Title, give me a hell yeah!
The arena roars with a deafening "hell yeah!"
Austin makes to speak again, but is cut off by Shawn Michaels, who walks out from behind the curtain, and walks down to the ring while talking.
Shawn Michaels: Not so fast Austin. If anybody deserves a shot at that WWF Title, it's the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels!
Shawn gets to the ring and enters it, now standing face to face to Austin.
Shawn Michaels: I'll give you credit Steve, you've earned my respect. And when I win the World Wrestling Federation Championship, you'll be the first one to have a shot at it.
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin: Well Shawn, I appreciate the praise, really I do, but you see, this is beyond respect, and this is beyond scratching my back and me scratching yours. You see, it's real simple. Stone Cold will not stop until he is the WWF Champion! I aint the type of person to just step aside and let someone else take what's mine. So Shawn, you can shove it up your ass! Stone Cold will be the next World Wrestling Federation Champion, and there aint nothin you can do about it!
Before anything else happens, the Rock's music hits and he comes out and stops on the top of the stage.
The Rock: I don't see why you two are getting so worked up, because the Rock is the number one contender for the WWF Title. The Rock is the corporate champion, hand picked by Vince McMahon to be the next WWF Champion! So the two of you can get the hell in line, and maybe the Rock will be nice enough to give you a shot at his WWF Title.
Vince's music hits, and he walks out, stopping next to the Rock and raising a mic to his mouth.
Vince McMahon: I'm damn sick and tired of listening to this crap! It's about damn time I did something about it! I believe it's time to name a number one contender!
The Rock looks smug and the crowd stirs with anticipation
Vince Mcmahon: Now there are a lot of people who deserve to be number one contender. Some of whom stand before me. Therefore, I believe, the only way to name a number one contender, is to decide it in a match, right here, next week on Raw! So next week, it will be the Rock vs Shawn Michaels vs "Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs Bret "The Hitman" Hart in a fatal four way! And the winner will face the Undertaker at No Way Out!
Vince walks away to the back, and the Rock looks shocked and angry. He turns to the ring, where Austin and Shawn are looking at each other, and Bret Hart is outside the ring, pleased with the news he's just heard. The Rock looks back and forth from the ring to the back where Vince just disappeared, and the camera fades to black.
